Mundaring's Beelu 4WD Circuit

Looking for somewhere to take your 4x4 for the day?

Beelu National Park is well worth a trip!

Situated south of Mundaring it's just 45 minutes from the city.

The park is ideal for beginner four wheel drivers, however some sections are not suitable for 2WD or 4WDs with low clearance.

Mundaring National Park was established and gazetted in 1995 and renamed in 2008 as an acknowledgement of the traditional land owners of the area.

The word Beelu is derived from the Noongar word for river or stream.

The Beelu people were the original peoples of the area whose district was

bounded by the Helena, Swan and Canning Rivers.

The park contains an abundance of native flora including Jarrah, Marri, Zamia, Banksia, Shoek and Grass Trees.

As four wheel drivers it's important we look after the track.

This area is important not only for it's cultural significance, but also for other recreational activities (hiking, mountain biking.) Please respect others and give way making sure you say a friendly g'day and take all rubbish with you. For bonus points take any rubbish you find out with you too.)

The trip notes below can be used as a guide however there are numerous tracks that intersect each other and make for a fun day of exploring.

This trip is perfect for beginner to intermediate four wheel drivers who want to get a real feel of what off roading in the bush is all about, without being remote, making Beelu an ideal place to take your 4WD near Perth.

Wpt05: T-Junction, turn left.

Wpt06: Powerlines Track, continue straight on O'conner road crossing Powerlines track.
